What a Day

Last night I told Edgar I had a bad feeling about today. Now the day is almost over and I know why. Around noon we had to go out to run some errands. We got the kids in the car, turned the key and nothing happened. The battery was dead (for the second time in a week). I called my sister who lives about a block away and she said she would send her husband as soon as he got back from taking things to the city dump. About thirty minutes later he was at my house. My car was in our parking spot facing inwards with cars on either side so we had to try and push the care out of the spot. I put the car in neutral and shut the door so it wouldn't get hit and my car locked. The dead battery caused my alarm to short and lock my car with my key in it.

My brother in law made some calls an then went to get a hanger. After a few tries with that we found more help and luckily were able to get my door unlocked. Two men tried to push my car out and it wouldn't budge. My brother in law then has to pull my car out with his truck at an angle because there is a building behind the car.

We finally got the car charged and I headed to Auto Zone to get the battery checked which was, of course, a "bad battery". I bought a new battery and called my sister (because she's good with cars) who said she could change the battery. I started my car and it was even more dead than it was before. I called my sister back who sent her husband again. (They have a baby so one of them has to stay there). He came and changed my battery and I was good to go.

As we were driving around with our errands a warning that my steering power fluid was low came on. This wouldn't have been so bad except it came on the month before and I had just topped of everything two weeks before. We continued with our next errand to get my husband's prescription and the pharmacy we usually go to of course did not carry it. My son was screaming so we had to stop at my mom's house so I could feed him before we headed to a different pharmacy. When we got to the next pharmacy they did not carry it either but luckily they were able to find it at another store so we could pick it up the next day.

We made it home about 8 pm. Our two hour errands ended up taking my whole day. Despite all the problems we had there were the positives. I am grateful that my brother-in-law was around to help me, twice. I am grateful that I did not have to pay for a lock smith. I am grateful that my mom lives by where we had to do errands so that I could feed the baby. I am grateful that we were able to find Edgar's prescription at the end of the day. Despite the bad there was a lot of good and I believe they were blessings because I was definitely praying and thinking "trust Him".
